Call for late-breaking abstracts for 2019 Issues of Substance conference

The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) has put out a call for late-breaking abstracts for the 2019 Issues of Substance conference.

For this call, the CCSA is seeking presentations that address current and topical issues. This could include the use and impact of substances and other licit and illicit drugs or drugs of evolving legal status, as well as research on and evaluations of programs and initiatives. They also encourage abstracts focusing on the intersections between mental health and substance use, as well as behavioural addictions, such as gambling and gaming.

The presentations need to:

  • Feature new findings in the substance use and addiction field that have never been published or presented previously;
  • Have had no preliminary data available when the general call for abstracts closed in February 2019; and
  • Consider sex and gender as part of their work

Submissions will be accepted through the abstract portal at 9:00 a.m. EDT July 26, 2019. You can submit your abstract until 11:59 p.m. EDT on August 30, 2019. Applicants can submit one abstract for a late-breaking oral presentation in either English of French.

Individuals and organizations from disciplines associated with substance use and addiction, public health and behavioural addictions, as well as those with direct or indirect, lived or living experience with substance use or a substance use disorder are encouraged to submit.
