A project led by Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care and the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre (Humber College) has created a series of films that both highlight the history of mental health care in Canada, and use that history to teach us about where we are today, and how we got here.

Funded by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Canada 150 grant, "Keys to Our Past" consists of a series of six 10-minute films that explore topics ranging from the creation of the asylum system to changes in mental health treatments over time to the ongoing challenge presented by the stigmatization of mental health.

The creators will be hosting the premiere of this new series on the grounds of the former Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital, today Humber College's Lakeshore campus.
