Quality is the name of the game for child and youth mental health in Ontario

Quality is the name of the game

Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health has announced the upcoming launch of a new quality improvement cohort program for the sector, in partnership with Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO).

Quest is a quality improvement (QI) program based on the Lean Six Sigma methodology.

Care pathways will be the focus for this round of projects. Selected teams will be coached through an improvement project with a potential for system-level impact, while building organizational capacity for QI and building a culture of continuous quality improvement within their organization.

The program will involve in-person and virtual group learning sessions, along with tailored, individual QI coaching. Quest will be offered free of charge to participating organizations, and cohort team members will be provided with Lean Six Sigma yellow belt training and certification. Participating organizations will also be receiving a small grant to support their engagement in the program.

The application process will open on September 17, 2019.

The cohort program will run for 12 months beginning in early 2020, followed by four months of support focused on sustainability, scalability, spread and knowledge mobilization.
