Creating Together: Co-Creating a Mental Health and Addictions Research Agenda for Ontario

Co-Creating a Mental Health and Addictions Research Agenda for Ontario

With support from a number of sponsors, OMHAKEN led the creation of Creating Together: Co-Creating a Mental Health and Addictions Research Agenda for Ontario. Creating Together was an initiative created to facilitate a collaborative engagement process to identify priority areas for research in mental health and addictions.

A variety of forums, surveys, and consultations were held throughout the province in order to draft a collaborative vision of research priorities for the province in the areas of mental health and addictions. Five large priority areas were identified. OMHAKEN prepared a final report, which was then shared with policymakers and stakeholders throughout the province, with the hope of forging linkages, sparking a dialogue, and encouraging research in the areas identified.

Creating Together consultation with LGBT communities identifies priority areas for research in mental health and addictions

As part of the broader Creating Together initiative, in September 2010, OMHAKEN and Rainbow Health Ontario partnered to sponsor the first mental health and addictions research consultation with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities in Ontario.

The main messages from this consultation can be found here. Click here to read the full report.
