Closing the evidence-practice gap: Focusing on treatment for youth and seniors prescription drug harms

National project

Description and objectives

The Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse will produce a framework that will guide the development of care pathways for youth or seniors experiencing harms from prescription drugs. The framework will include a literature review on treatment for opiates, sedatives and stimulants harms and will outline considerations for all individuals involved (e.g., physical, mental health and allied health professionals, individuals with lived experience and care givers) across the treatment continuum (i.e., from screening to recovery).
