Methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) project

Newfoundland and Labrador

Project description

This is one of two projects (one is an extension of previous DTFP work while the other is a new project) that will be supported and are in line with DTFP objectives and investment areas.

The Methadone Provincial Policy and Capacity Building project will have a lead in the Department of Health and Community Services to oversee the development of evidence-based MMT provincial policy, as well as measures to increase MMT capacity throughout the province. This project will benefit addictions clients in all areas of the province as they embark on their journey of recovery.

A Knowledge Exchange Facilitator, located in Central Regional Health Authority, will assist with the development and implementation of both projects.

This project is made possible through a financial contribution from Health Canada. The views expressed do not necessarily represent the views of Health Canada. © 2015 EENet.
