Supporting student mental health in residence settings

On March 4, 2015, the Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health hosted a webinar titled, "Supporting student mental health in residence settings."

This webinar discussed:

  • How the Ontario Association of College and University Housing Officers (OACUHO) helps support students' mental health.
  • Campus housing systems and how they are structured to provide support to residence life staff and students who are facing mental health concerns.
  • The role of 'embedded counsellors' in residence; typical interactions and concerns they encounter; and how they work with on-campus services and community resources to support students with mental health concerns.
  • A case management approach and how it can be used to respond to students at risk.
