CBC Radio program "Fresh Air" interview highlights the CoI’s report on racialized populations and mental health court diversion

On Saturday, June 8, 2019, an interview on CBC’s Radio's program, Fresh Air, put front and centre the findings of a report released recently by the Racialized Populations and Mental Health and Addictions Community of Interest (CoI).

The report highlighted that many racialized people in Ontario are not accessing mental health courts that divert them from having a criminal record.

The CBC Radio segment featured interviews with Deqa Farah, CoI member and Senior Manager of Mental Health and Addiction Programs for the Fred Victor Centre, and Brandy Skinner, who was arrested while having a mental health episode and was diverted to the mental health court.

The report was also featured in an article in the Toronto Star.
